Thousand Islands

We spent a quick weekend up in the Thousand Islands (Cabrina was excited that we were on Wellesley island since she is headed to the college of the same name this fall). It was good family time.

On the drive up there were two important stops. The first was to Pontillo's for wings and the second was to Sal's Birdland for sauce.

This is what happens when Simone is up past her bedtime (she was running around in circles).

We arrived in the pitch black of night. So it was especially nice to wake up to this:

One of Simone's favorite weekend activities was splashing her feet in the water:

We tried to get Simone in a life jacket (no toddler sized ones) so she could go in the kayak with us but she refused to stay in it so it was back to shore for us.

Row, row, row your boat....

Cousins, second gen:

Simone's other favorite weekend activity, playing with the Bubble solution and maker:

One of the goals of the weekend was to have Simone spend more time with her grandparents and become comfortable with them. This is as close as we got with Yeh-yeh (kudos to him, he is persistent and not put off by her protests):

This is as close as she got to Pau-pau (though she could at least link the name to the person and sometimes give a high five or peekaboo):

It was a long ride home due to Sunday traffic, but the kids were pretty good and we were thankful for Ezer's sister and fam for letting us ride with them.

ps Highlights for Ezer and I were having a few moments when we could leave Simone under general care of his family. We took the double kayak out on the lake and rode bikes around the neighborhood.
