Happens Every Day

I just read this memoir with the above title. It made me cry. It makes me sad to think about how despite your greatest desire and best efforts one's marriage can end just like that.

Ha, from that cheery note, to a photo of E and me going out to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary (me playing around with iPhoto adjustments):

Ezer had Friday off since the 4th fell on a Saturday this year. I declared it family day. It turns out that E and I have very different ideas of what that means, so in the end we kind of compromised. In the morning we went to visit the newly opened High Line park. It was very cool. I had actually gone to an architecture talk about it over a year ago so it was neat to see the fruition of their plans. In the afternoon we went to the playground in our complex.

We spent 4th of July with the Kangs, just hangin' out, playing a little tennis, eating BBQ. Maya and Kaden (plus parents) couldn't make it - funny how it felt quiet with Simone being the only youngun'.

The Cho's were in town and we had a nice afternoon in Central Park and the CP Zoo. I think Simone's favorite were the monkeys!

The girls:

This week I also had the chance to celebrate a friend's birthday. The Dinosaur BBQ wait was too long so we ordered to go and enjoyed a meal by the Hudson. E and I are sad that these friends are leaving EPC. Carly is on the Mercy Team with us and they are great peeps. It's getting to be at that point in the living in New York cycle when everyone is leaving us again....though at least they're not leaving the city, yet. :(

Hi Jan!

It's good to be back in the land without firewalls and I can read your blog. Congrats on your fifth anniversary! It was nice to hang out with you and Simone yesterday, hope we do it again soon.
