Today I did laundry. I put my keys on a table. I put my clothes in the dryer. I turned around and they were gone! There was a woman next to the table trying to add money to her laundry card. It wasn't working so she had to go to the next building. Luckily, she eventually returned. It turned out she had picked up my keys with her own. Fortunately, I had a book to read (Evangelism: Doing Justice and Preaching Grace by Harvie Conn). I did have to keep reminding myself that I really, really did bring down my keys and that I wasn't just imagining that they had disappeared.
I also went to another Lincoln Out-of-Doors free dance performance. One of the companies performing tonight was Complexions. I was looking forward to seeing one of my favorite dancers, Desmond Richardson. Unfortunately, right at curtail call they announced he wasn't going to dance his solo as scheduled. If you want to see him in action, he's one of the principal dancers in the movie Chicago (look for the African American guy...I was going to say with cut muscles, but they're probably covered up). :)
An opinion piece in the NY Times talked about how it was hard to browse in bookstores now because there are people strewn all over the place and they get upset if you want them to move. It occurred to me that I hadn't browsed in a long time, so after the dance performance I headed across the street to the closest Barnes & Noble. It was fun. I looked at books like Indie Fonts: A Compendium Of Digital Type From Independent Foundries, Get Togethers : Rachel Ray 30-Minute Meals, and the Supernanny book.
