numbers

Ezer says that in my next life I should be a demographer. If you'll indulge me, here are some examples all about marriage and babies. Hmm, while I'm interested in both that doesn't mean you'll be hearing any news about the latter in the near future.

The most popular months to get married: June, August, May, July, September...in that order...the least is January (less than half as many weddings than even September).

The most common months to have a baby (but as you might imagine, these numbers are more evenly spread out than weddings): August/September/October.

The most common day to be born: Tuesday (credit to the rise in c-sections and inducements); least: Sunday followed by Saturday. I was born on a Sunday (March 2, 1975) - product of old-fashioned labor though! Just looked up when Ezer was born...a Sunday, too!

The average age of first-time mothers in the U.S. broken down by racial groups:
Japanese: 31
Chinese: 30.1
Filipino: 27.9
Cuban: 26.6
Caucasian: 26.1
Central/South American: 25.2
Average: 25.1
Hawaiian: 23.1
Puerto Rican: 22.9
Black: 22.8
Mexican: 22.4
American Indian: 21.8

They don't have Thai but seeing the Chinese number makes me feel like I'm not out-of-the norm. :)

Last weekend I finally got a new PDA. My cute, red, Visor Edge has served me well for four years. I bought a Palm Tungsten E2...special deal at CompUSA where you could get a free wi-fi card (retail $99).

A list I just found of free wi-fi spots in the city...several hotels and coffeeshops, the only close to me I've never been to so I need to check it out:
