February

I will try not to make monthly blog posts my habit!

There was a big box of girl clothes left by the laundry room (the shelve and share area). One find - tutus! I'm thinking about enrolling S in a dance class this summer/fall.

This is us babysitting my friend's son J (at the time, 2 months old and 15 lbs!). S was a little jealous...

S still loves to play with water in the sink. However, I've recently promised E I wouldn't let her anymore because inevitably there's a big puddle on the floor despite my best attempts to avoid one.

Cheeeese!

We celebrated Chinese New Year with E's family. So does S look like the Kang women? This is E's mom and two sisters.

S's favorite red envelope was this one with Disney princesses. :P

We spent a lovely snow day together. We hung out in the freshly fallen snow at Columbia's College Walk and then headed to the library to warm up.

ML was kind to babysit for us. Here she is showing S the correct way to show off her painted nails.

Doesn't the window look so big here?

S and I made the trip out to California for my grandmother's funeral. We used frequent flier miles and had to make a connection in Chicago (O'Hare airport seen here). Praise God that we made our flight okay - many flights were canceled that day due to weather on the East Coast.

Always a smart idea to bring a new toy for the plane...this time it's a felt pizza. "Cheese pizza" is one of S's new favorite things to eat.

Here is some of the extended family the day of the funeral at Rose Hills. I appreciated hearing people reminisce about Grandma and getting a chance to catch up with relatives.

I also took the opportunity to catch up with some friends. We pretty much didn't see anyone over the Christmas break...so it typical Jan fashion I had breakfast with one friend, lunch with another, coffee with a third group, and dinner with another friend. Here is S and my friends' daughter, Hannah, running around Century City Mall.

S has discovered the joys of sunglasses. In case you can't tell, these are both hers!

The park above Santa Monica Beach with friends:

Doesn't S look so grown up here?

A windy day at Newport Pier. S and I spent the afternoon with my cousin V and her relatively new husband - it was nice to get to know them better.

Discovering the joys of sand writing:

We didn't spend a lot of time in her playhouse this trip, but the kitchen was still well used, and S still had lots of quality time with Granddad:

I think I have a picture just like this from Mitsuwa (eating ramen)...I'll have to make a series.

For the first time in a long time, I spent my birthday in Cali (so technically, this isn't just a February post). S and I went with M&D to have afternoon tea at the London Hotel in Los Angeles. For March they had a special "Mad Hatter" tea. It was enjoyed by all.

Hotel lobby:

Another repeat at the airport...Grandma, S, and a luggage cart...

I do have one strong girl...

That is a look of pure joy on Simone's face with the desserts! :) Glad you are posting again.

That's a beautiful picture of you and your mom in the hotel lobby.

I thought we'd managed to skip Disney princesses, but, alas, at age 5, she is borrowing the books from the library. Ariel seems to be her favorite.

Hope you had a nice spring break!
