Bubbles, blocks, and more

We did get a hold of those Gymboree bubbles - Simone can make them herself! At the playground this week we saw another cool variation - you squeeze the bottle and the blower part comes up like the lochness monster out of the loch/lake - no messy fingers.

We enjoyed our few days of summer weather and spent lots of time at the playground. This day we brought Elmo with us. Simone enjoyed having him ride with her...although she did laugh hysterically every time he fell over.

A little girl who took a shining to Simone. Apparently, this morning at the playground there was a preschool class. They really liked Simone. Several said they wanted to give her hugs and did so. They also showed her around the big kids equipment.

You never know what Simone will pull from the hamper next or from the store display. Yesterday I was chasing her around Old Navy while she ran off with a large pink brassiere around her neck.

Yes, that rare sighting - a family photo. Too bad Simone was looking at...?!

She still loves buckles.

And we love her. :)

In other news, my chair confirmed that I will be offered the same contract as I had this year (just one class). I was hoping for two sections - pretty much my pay will equal the cost of our part-time daycare.

May and I had a yummy dinner at Tabla last night - at Restaurant Week they gave us "coupons" for $24.50 off per person so it was quite reasonable. We felt a tiny bit bad for leaving the boys at home...I brought home our favorite rosemary nan (nice man - not the server but one of the other people) wrapped up a new piece and even gave us the chutneys. May brought home the petit four chocolates.

Tonight it's Waiting for Godot with Angela, Lynn, and Lynn's mom - always great to have Lynn in town.

And tomorrow I have a meeting with the current diversity in science committee to talk about the survey I did a couple summers back. I'm a little nervous about it so I need to go and review everything now while Simone is still sleeping!

Lastly, for those of you who don't know, my grandfather (mom's father) passed away this week. My mom and sister Joy are in Thailand with the rest of that side of the family.
