from nyc to op

Right after we got back from New York, several members of Ezer's family came to visit us in Oak Park - his parents, two older sibs, one niece and one nephew. It was nice to be able to spend more time with them and show them our life here. Initially when hearing about the visit I was a bit stressed out - but one hotel room plus eating out or getting take out every lunch and dinner allayed all my potential anxieties.

The day they arrived was the last day of Chicago's super hot streak. Roasting in our apartment (underpowered AC!), the grandparents enjoyed looking at photos with Noemi:

That afternoon we went to visit the Wheaton Campus. They wanted to see where Ezer worked and also to see the Billy Graham Museum (really on American evangelism in general):

Noemi took a real shining to PoPo who was pleased as punch to have her little shadow. Noemi even asked for PoPo for several days after they left.

My handsome hubby's photo on the psych wall of faculty:

While some went to check out Ezer's new office (moved within the building this summer), we waited outside. Check out the aerodynamic position - think Noemi is destined for sprinting greatness?

In front of the new favorite Wheaton sign (the other is on the front lawn), this one's by the cafteria so not as far of a trek:

The girls and I went with the fam to downtown Chicago (while Ezer and Enoch waited for the delivery of our new couch!):

Coffee break at Caribou:

Sunday some of us went to LaSalle and Ezer took some folks to church in Chinatown. We met up for dim sum:

Noemi also charged Enoch - here she is getting some kind of finger wiping/massage:

It must have been very relaxing for both of them:

Simone loooves Charlotte Jie Jie:

Elaine, Charlotte and Gabriel wanted to see the Magnificent Mile (prime downtown shopping district) and even brought Simone with them!

Lucky girl got to ride in style:

Hangin' out in the hotel room. What was Simone so excited to show Yeh Yeh on the iPad?

Yep, a photo of herself:

It's too bad we didn't get a photo with everyone - but a big thanks to Gabriel who took many of these pictures.
