Give me an I!

Time for a Simone update!

Simone - what do you like to do?
- I like to play with my little sister, Noemi,  play video games, go to Grandma's house, make things, play cake with my mommy (as we did this morning),  have play dates, eat cupcakes.

What do you do at school? Or what are you learning about?
- I learned about colors and planets. I like having people's birthday parties. I like to draw. I like to see my friends at school; I like to play with my friends. I like my teachers.

What do you like about Oak Park?
- My friends, toy stores, watching DVDs. I like going to the library.

What makes you sad or angry?
- When I cannot have a play date with my friends, my friends move and I cannot have any more play dates with them. When Noemi breaks the cake I made for my baby's birthday and I don't want to start it again, that makes me mad. When Mommy gives me a time out I'm mad.

What makes you happy?
- To go to school, making crafts, making new friends, playing in the snow, playing with my little sister, when it's sunny, when it's a nice day, when the flowers grow nice.

What can you tell me about Jesus and God?
- Easter - when we celebrate Jesus. Christmas - celebrating Jesus's birthday. When he goes to heaven. He died for our cross and died for our sins.

The end.

Simone has made a good little group of friends...photos will be scattered throughout...this is Eva. Ezer and I are friends with her parents, Tony and Joi, too. Simone and Eva have a love/hate relationship. It's never boring!

S at the Children's Museum back in October...she makes a great little firefighter!

And construction worker! (with her friend, Emma, visiting from NYC)

Her sculpture - a flower:

Love how well she can focus and concentrate when working on something, especially art:

This is from our weekend trip to Springfield. I can just imagine the many father-daughter talks these two will have throughout the years:

Post-finger painting with her friend, Molly, a school friend we see pretty regularly. Her mom Maureen is really nice, too.

Her artistic talents are widespread:

She's starting to get the hang of swinging on her own:

With her first Oak Park friend, Alanah, who unfortunately moved to Australia last month. S still talks about her often.

Playing "where's the penny?" after dad gives her the clue that it's near a picture (it was by the photo coasters).

On the weekends, if Simone listens well, she gets to play in her "tent" before bedtime.

From her school show:

Thanksgiving fun with Grandma:

Gingerbread house decorating fun with mom:

Like mother, like daughter...she's getting quite good as using the trackpad and mouse. One of her favorite things to do is play video games on sites like nickjr.com and pbskids.org.

For Christmas, she finally got the Tinker Bell and Friends dolls that she's been wanting since her birthday:

She's quite the fashionista. Project Runway contestants have nothing on her...her shrug is made from the newspaper cover:

She's enjoying the space unit at school so we made a point to visit Adler Planetarium on one of their free days:

And she makes hats and purses, too, taking orders now!

Story time! When you ask her what she wants to be she says teacher...or postman. :)
