When S was one I bought a used chicken costume for her. I bought a lion one for her the next year but it was way too big. So she was a chicken again. This year she did fit into the lion costume, but as posted before, found a Jessie costume she liked better. And then she decided she wanted to wear the chicken costume for trick-or-treating. I couldn't resist showing her from all three years.

This was S's first year trick-or-treating. We almost did make it past the first floor in our building because two of the apartments had dogs that started barking as soon as we rang the doorbell. I convinced her to go to two more floors but then we headed home. At home she got to help pass out the candy - turns out that is her true Halloween calling. She loved it. I had to put a two-candy-per-person limit on her.
The Monday after Halloween we went to Moomah, a cafe/art center. I let S pick out the craft activity she wanted even though I thought it would be better if we picked something that had utility like decorating a frame or a box. Knick knacks don't last long in our household due to a certain someone. But she wanted to paint a rocket and we had fun together.
Lately, she's been doing this thing where she puts her hand in her mouth a lot. I don't know why - but it makes me think about women self-silencing and grab it out of her mouth.
See, here she is again.
