lights, camera, action

Simone is really into videos recently. I opened up this Wiggles DVD we were going to give as a present. We kept it because we found out that someone else had bought it. It's a bit of a pain to return because it's from Amazon. So...I figured since Simone liked the Wiggles songbook she might like their videos. Was I ever right. Sometimes she'll touch the buttons of the DVD player and look at me. Or if it's within reach she'll bring over the DVD. It's a bit scary.

Apparently, this attraction carries over into other areas. Yesterday we went to the Whitney Museum to see a Calder exhibit from the Paris years - great wire portraits, circus creations, Josephine Baker sculptures, etc. She loooved the videos. There was a projection on one of the walls and she plopped down and didn't want to move. Eventually, she walked up to the front and sat down to get a better view!

This was a good exhibit for videos since many of the figures were intended for motion:

This morning at school was one of those "wish you could re-wind" mornings - about to pass out an assignment only to realized I photocopied the wrong sheet....was all messed up about the schedule because periods 1 and 2 aren't meeting tomorrow so I thought I would have to move the upcoming quiz, etc. only to have my students point out to me that we don't have class tomorrow anyway, etc.
