fabulous 40

Since E was turning 40 this year I wanted to do something special. He very specifically said he didn't want anything even resembling a party. I still wanted to get other people involved so I invited friends from work, church, and his past to participate by sending in a note and photo for a scrapbook for him.

I decided on a few stylistic touches to make it more E-friendly including printing all the photos in black and white with white borders, printing all the messages in lowercase font on nice paper, etc. It was a ton of work and several friends were of great help (being the address to send things to, watching Simone, going to the store and buying a bigger album for me when I realized it wouldn't all fit, etc.). E really appreciated it. I'm glad he had a good bday.
