mindreader

Sometimes I wish I could read Simone's mind. For example, she's been refusing to drink formula for the past few days but will still drink breast milk from a bottle. We did change her formula about ten days ago...is customer loyalty already so ingrained? As a result of this formula boycott, the girl wants to eat all time, a little over every two hours. Thus, I haven't been getting much sleep.

Columbia sent an e-mail saying my CUID ID would become invalid at the end of the month. That made me sad. I won't be able to swipe in to use the library anymore or look up journal articles on-line for free. It made me start thinking--maybe I should look for a part-time job on campus. I am starting to get a little bit of an itch to do something...not sure what, yet.

We turned in our binder for the board today--need to get approved for the two-bedroom apartment. It looks like we may have missed the November meeting though and will have to close in December. And we better close in December or there goes our 10% deposit!

I finally finished my preliminary report for the PhD student survey and sent it off at 1am on Monday. I'm sure the co-directors of the Task Force would have been okay getting it later but I wanted to send it off Monday because 1) that's what I said I was going to do and 2) so I wouldn't have it hanging over my head anymore. It's nice not trying to figure out when in the world I'll be able to work on it.

Yesterday was a very productive day--put away my maternity clothes and took out all my winter sweaters, did laundry, ran errands, and made dinner (w/ E's help). What domestic goddess I am. :)

Family photo--we tried to take one the other day. We even brought the tripod outside...nothing came out though...blurry, or E is blocking Simone, etc.

I'm going out tonight for dinner with a friend to a semi-nice restaurant...should be a nice change of pace.

Tuesday was Election Day...for some people in New York it's a holiday. Ezer worked a half day. We wanted to do something fun--just get out of the house. So we rented a zipcar with a plan just to drive around the city before the sunset. Ah, one day I'll get to sit shotgun again. We also ended up stopping by Brooklyn to visit E's sister and family.
