looking and listening

My exercise these days consists of walking in the park 3x a week for an hour at a time. Typically I walk along the dirt path with the joggers. Today, I had a bag with me* which made me feel less "athletic" so I walked along the asphalt promenade. Amazing how such a small chance can make such a difference in what you see. Between the park and the West Side Highway & Hudson, there are recreation areas several feet below the walking area. So today I was like, "Oh, look at the basketball courts; oh, I forgot there was a skate park; Who are all these people playing soccer on a Monday morning." My other unusual sight this morning were three police riding horses.

*I was going to return something but realized I needed a box and didn't want to pay for one.

Another walking observation...I've been listening to E's iPod shuffle. Listening to music like that makes me pay attention more to the lyrics than I usually do. One way I know my hormones are acting up is that I partly teared up during this one song...not sure what the name is but one line goes, "Love is watching someone die." I had this image in my head...you know when a wife/husband crawls up into the hospital bed and curls up around their loved one. That's what made me teary. Then there was this other song that made me go, "Are they saying what I think they're saying?" Let's just say that they wanted to name any subsequent kid "Rock and Roll."

I like The Container Store--reasonable prices plus I've had positive experiences with customer service both in-person and over the phone. Today I ordered these tote boxes for the baby closet (the design we like is out of stock).
