ill-fitting ends?

I'm feel a bit down about the SSI study. We've been trying to make this big push to get the last 5 experimental couples we need in. And they keep cancelling or saying that can't make it to the oh-so-critical-to-the-entire-endeavor workshop. I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering it took us 7 months to get 15 experimental couples. At this point, for my dissertation at least there's no sense in running new couples because their data won't be completed until the beginning of April - the time my dissertation is supposed to be complete. There may be some wiggle room there, but I don't want to be stressed out trying to do everything at the last minute. It's just all very frustrating. The good news is that we're making some progress with finishing with entering and cleaning the data we already have.

I got a call from a job I applied to with Mercer Human Resource Consulting. It's for an analyst/associate position. It appealed to me because it seemed like one would be using research skills in an applied way. The idea of corporate America is still a bit to get my head around...never mind my lack of a work wardrobe. But one thing at a time...

My sister visited this weekend - she had an interview at NYU today for social psychology. Our cousins came down from Connecticut and one from New York joined us so we had a mini-reunion and sleepover which is always fun.

I also have a very nice new Cynthia Rowley birthday present if anyone wants to throw a black-tie event. :)
