Data. That's what I've been working on all weekend. Well, not all weekend...but a big chunk of it. And it's still not totally ready to start analysis. Programming in SAS is still a challenge for me. The internet is my friend - I do have a book on begining SAS (statistical program) but Google is the first place I turn when I have a question. The UCLA Stats department has as particularly helpful site if anyone per chance needs help in this area as well.
Dating. That's the area I might be working in post-graduation. I had a meeting with Dr. Helen Fisher, an anthropologist who wrote Why We Love and is the "Chief Scientific Advisor" for a new on-line dating website called chemistry.com. It's a good opportunity to do more applied research like I'm interested in. I do have a fear that I will just be a glorified research assistant who happens to have a PhD from Columbia but doesn't really need one to do the job. But maybe it will be a good inroad with future opportunities.
Clinique. My youngest sister just started working for them. And I bought some face and body lotion for my mother-in-law's birthday which was today. Unfortunately no discount from afar, but I scored by getting a free gift (just happened to be this week at Macy's) and by unknowingly buying the brand my MIL uses!
Just watched:
A History of Violence - I thought it would be better. Or maybe I just didn't get it.
Just borrowed: Five Obstructions...same story filmed 5 times with a different challenge thrown at the director each time...looking forward to it.
Just read:
Sing Me to Heaven - a memoir about a marriage where the guy had HIV going into the marriage and dies 4 years later. It had some interesting perspectives on HIV during that time (early 90's) and how God used their circumstances in their marriage.
