Ugh, I have another cold. I had one around Thanksgiving, too. I wonder if it's a combination of the change in weather and running out of my multi-vitamin. And I was all proud that I (almost) never get sick. Ezer was knock down sick last weekend so I guess I should still be grateful that I only have a small nasal issue.
My research assistants are great people....but they are also very slow at data entry. Today I was helping out so we could do a big data push. My R.A. (another was sick) did 10. I did 25. At least I know that I have at least one marketable skill if I ever need to put food on the table.
I forwarded info on Blood Water Mission (started by Jars of Clay guys) to Ezer this week. I think it's a great combo of our interests in Christ/HIV/clean water (one of the partnering groups is Lifewater International - recipient of our wedding favor $). If you donate $$ during the month of December there's a matching corporate gift:

With the looming transit strike, I, and half the city, went shopping on Saturday. Shopping is one of those experiences that makes you into a hardy New Yorker. You have to ride the subway/walk all over the city (I went to 4 different subway stops), carry large, heavy bags, fight crowds, and breathe in lots of exhaust. I can see the appeal of the suburban mall. Speaking of malls, over Thanksgiving my sister had a friends and family discount at Banana Republic. We went a bit nuts. I had some buyer's remorse so BR was one of my Saturday stops.
I'm hoping to send in my postdoc fellowship application by this Friday...
