fall fun

We really enjoyed having Mom in town. It was great to just hang out and spend time together. Also, she was super helpful in watching S when she was sick, so we could have a date night, etc. It's too bad the likelihood of her moving to NYC or us moving to OC is very very low.

We had a lovely, slightly rainy Saturday morning at Wave Hill - lots of nice gardens and a view of the Hudson:

S and the rocks she collected. She does have this habit of attaching to something and holding it the whole day - on Sunday it was a lollipop with a plastic skelton arm stick still in its wrapper (gotten from a Kids Fest the day before).

Perhaps collecting runs in the family...

We may be approaching the toddler bed stage soon. Here is S trying to escape. She actually partially swung her other leg over but stopped when I warned her of a big ouchie.

We belatedly celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday with the Kang clan. I appreciate that E's dad is persistent in trying to interact with S. He did convince her to let him help feed her - reminds me that at school they said sometimes S will just sit there and not eat her lunch. But if someone feeds her she will. One teacher at the parent-teacher conference remarked maybe it was because she saw the other, younger kids being fed.

Always a blast with the cousins - here they're all yelling in unison, "Mommy, mommy, mommy."

Mom, S, & I went to the Manhattan Children's Museum, and then treated ourselves to Jacques Torres - can you tell S is a big fan?

A brief jaunt to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden...we had to pick up S's thermos from my sister-in-law in Brooklyn and thought we'd make an afternoon of it. Having a car is great, having to drive in traffic is horrible. We only got to stay for about half an hour.
