romance & revival

Recently I watched High School Music 3 with my mentee and South Pacific with my friend A. It was actually nice to see some good old fashioned unabashed romance. No one is trying to hide their feelings, quite the opposite. I have a little crush on Paul (Paolo actually, interesting how they anglicized it for his US stage name; he's from Brazil) Szot who plays the Frenchman in SP.

Simone was sick Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and a bit better Wednesday. We think she had a stomach virus. Today she was much more her old self though her appetite/drinking don't seem to be back to normal, yet. It's not easy having a sick kid - you feel bad for them, you're grossed out by the diapers and vomit, you're not sure how best to get them to eat/drink, you're stuck at home, etc.

On the brighter side, here S is helping me prepare dinner:

And Happy Thanksgiving to all! We had a nice Thanksgiving-to-go lunch with my sister and her boyfriend from a local restaurant and a dinner potluck with E's fam. It's great to celebrate with my mom this year. I am thankful for so many things - the usual suspects (family, friends, health) and particularly thankful for God's provision financially. E didn't get the raise, yet (and who knows when), that we were expecting to kick in around summer and his consulting fees weren't what we'd projected but God has provided in other ways and opened other doors. Thanks, God!
