pretzel

My daughter is a human pretzel. The other night she woke up because her leg was stuck...as in through the bars, around the bar, and through the next opening...like it was threaded through a piece of cloth or something! I extricated her only to hear her cry out for the same reason minutes later!

I didn't get a picture of it (since she was crying in pain)...but here's a blurry sleeping shot, notice the leg completely through the slot.

Simone's new things are 1) lids/ taking them on and off; and 2) blocks--she can stack them!

In the audio world, she has a new "I want that" sound (a repeated eh, eh, eh, sound...I know that it seems like the same sound in type...I'll try to get a video!). Also, she is imitating words more often. The last couple days I've heard "all gone" and "tiger" come out of her mouth--very cute. :)

A few more photos:

This week:
- I was disappointed to go all the way to the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum which was free this week (design week) only to find it had closed early because they had an awards show that night.
- I was excited that my mentee had to cancel because that meant a rare open Saturday. The weather was bad but at least we got to have brunch with May Ling and Ko!
- I was proud that I got lots done on a brief research article I hope to submit in the next couple of months based on part of my dissertation.
- I was nervous when hearing a student's feedback that I sometimes seem nervous in class.
- I was found by an old high school friend via Facebook via my sister's account. Yes, another person strongly encouraging me to join.
