kinks

We are now officially residing in our new apartment. We handed over the keys to our old place yesterday without too much fuss--well, there was a tussle over the A/C units. The older woman who bought our place is a firecracker and wants visits from Simone to be part of the package.

Can you believe they can't hook us up with DSL in or new place until February 22nd?! On Sunday I just talked to a couple where there entire building (in Woodside, Queens) couldn't get anything other than dial-up and one of the residents organized a petition, etc. so they could get someone from Verizon to set up the building. Our home phone isn't working and so far no tv reception and we just got our first newspaper in our new home yesterday so we've been living in the dark ages. I know, I know it's only been since Friday but when you're home all the time it can seem like a long time. Shoot, did I just make a Lent slip-up? I decided I wasn't going to complain and instead give a Thanksgiving every time I was tempted. Okay, Thanksgivings: It's great having Simone in her own room. I like the fact that we see more sky in our new location. The cabinets are pretty much done and in only two days...we just need a counter now. Last night E and I unpacked several of the kitchen boxes and moved some furniture around (we'd had assembled cabinets in the middle of our living room) and I can see our new home taking shape. Thanks, God!

Simone is doing well. She's enjoying making new sounds like gurgling and fizzy sounds through her lips. She's also got new windmill arm movements. E found a new way to make her laugh--"eating" her armpit.

Signing off before I lose connection again (piggybacking of someone else's wireless)!
