it is finished

While there are still the details of revision, deposit, and graduation, for all intents and purposes I have finished my PhD in social psychology. My defense was a fairly brief and really not too brutal experience (though the first unexpected question did throw me for a little loop). My lab/dept. gave me champagne toast and I took the rest of the day off to celebrate.

I would have to agree with my dad that he's a large part of why I finished. I'd also have to agree with my dad in hoping that God will use my degree in some way for his glory.

The rest of our play day consisted of lunch at the Garden Court Cafe, a slice of Mille Crepes cake from Lady M Boutique (nice combo of crepe, cream, and a hint of caramelized sugar (not a real picture but the closest I could find):
